The Beginning.

Dearest Reader,

On April 4th, an otherwise mundane Thursday, the founding of Praxis Galore was solidified in our reality as a means of finding out what more there is to know. Here, a couple of untrained minds that are usually wavering and hesitant to make solid marks on the world have found a new kind of sanctuary.

Praxis, defined as the practical application of a theory, is brought to a specialized limelight on these grounds. To successfully take something from mere ink to the unknown abstract of our minds is quite an objective, something one can only assume everyone desires. 

This club strives towards the appreciation of art, literature, and the pursuit of creativity. Meeting on the first Wednesday of each month in Fine Arts C, starting in the fall of 2024, we hope to lead Praxis members in meetings that garner new friendships, while inspiring new discoveries and bringing back the enjoyment of reading. 

As an outlet of our club’s affection for the creative and literature, we plan to create a literary magazine focused on the analysis of literary works. However, our approach to this analysis will stretch beyond the regularity of written evaluation. Analysis through the Praxis lens will feature original visual works, musical analyses, original written work, and other mediums that extend a piece of literature’s impact beyond the bounds of ink and paper. Through the connections drawn between writing and artistic expression, we hope to encourage a deeper and more well-rounded understanding of literary texts.
